Kittitas County <br />Solid Waste <br /> <br />Agenda Staff Report <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />4/7/2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Request Board of County Commissioner approval for the Facilities and Waste Operations Director to sign <br />Change Order 11, for the Jail Renovation and Improvement Project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Kittitas County entered into a contract with Belsaas & Smith Construction for the Jail Renovation and <br />Improvement Project. <br /> <br />Previously a change order was approved to add skylights over the outdoor recreations. The manufacturer <br />has determined that addition cross ties will be needed. <br /> <br />This change order is to add $155,617.32 plus tax to the project plus an additional 121 day for the completion <br />of the skylights. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: <br />Knit Architecture, Jail Command staff, and Maintenance. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend Board of County Commissioners approval for the Facilities and Waste Operations Director to <br />sign Change Order 11. <br /> <br />HANDLING: <br />Return documents for signature. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />Patti Stacey <br />
