KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: March 17, 2026 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />Signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project <br />Prospectus for the Horizontal Curve Safety Project CRP <br />319-23. <br />BACKGROUND: The Horizontal Curve Safety Project was selected to <br />receive Federal Funding through the Highway Safety <br />Improvement Program (HSIP). Kittitas County Public <br />Works has inventoried horizontal curves countywide and <br />selected ten (10) roadway segments for implementation of <br />improved roadside signing, including advisory speeds, <br />chevron arrow signs, and the addition of flexible guideposts <br />to increase driver awareness. All the improvements are <br />focused on helping reduce accidents and injuries on the <br />road system. <br />This project is eligible for one hundred percent (100%) <br />Federal Funding for all phases authorized prior to April 30, <br />2026. This Project Prospectus covers the Federal Funding <br />for the Construction phase of the project. <br />Public Works is finalizing construction documents <br />targeting a May 21, 2026, advertisement. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Chair's signature <br />on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the <br />Horizontal Curve Safety Project CRP 319-23. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
