KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: January 20, 2026 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Conduct a Public Hearing for January 20, 2026, at 2:00 pm to <br />consider a Non-Exclusive Franchise for telecommunications <br />facilities with Inland Telephone. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Public Works received a Franchise Application for <br />telecommunications facilities to be placed within the County <br />rights-of-way. The previous franchise agreement had expired, and <br />a new franchise agreement is required for existing and new <br />services franchise area. Upon approval of the franchise, right-of- <br />way permits will be required to conduct any proposed work in the <br />service area. <br /> <br /> The Franchise Application is complete, and the appropriate <br />application fee has been collected. Additionally, the Prosecuting <br />Attorney’s Office has reviewed the proposed Franchise <br />Agreement.
