KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: December 16, 2025 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for January 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. <br />local time to consider a Lease with Kelly Nickerson for property <br />located at the Kittitas County Airport, Bowers Field. <br />BACKGROUND: Kelly Nickerson has requested to lease Lot H-15B of the Bowers <br />Field Binding Site Plan for the purpose of constructing a private <br />airplane hangar. The lease rate is set at $0.16 per square foot for the <br />standard lease term of thirty (30) years. The Prosecuting Attorney's <br />Office has reviewed the agreement and has addressed the questions <br />Mr. Nickerson had regarding the lease agreement. Mr. Nickerson has <br />executed the lease and it is now ready for Board of County <br />Commissioners' consideration. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office; Kelly Nickerson <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for January 6, 2026, to consider a Lease with <br />Kelly Nickerson for County property located at Bowers Field Airport. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
