KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: November 4, 2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement between the City of Ellensburg and the Kittitas County Sheriff’s <br />Office to provide mutual aid law enforcement assistance pursuant to the provisions of <br />Chapters 10.93 (Washington mutual aid peace officers powers act) and 39.34 (Interlocal <br />Cooperation Act) of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW). <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Ellensburg wish to <br />establish a joint Agreement to efficiently handle specific criminal incidents, as well as <br />incidents involving weapons of mass destruction person in crisis, or events that may <br />attract negative actors/actions through mutual aid. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor’s Office has reviewed and approved <br />this Interlocal Agreement. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement between the City of Ellensburg and the Kittitas County Sheriff’s <br />Office for mutual aid. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Please return one signed original to the Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Command Staff <br />
