KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT FOR AGENDA SESSION <br /> <br />DATE: September 16, 2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Acceptance <br />and County Participation in the Washington State <br />Allocation Agreement of funds paid by the Purdue <br />Bankruptcy and Certain Opioid Manufactures and <br />Authorizing Commissioner signature on all required <br />participation forms. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Since July 2018, Kittitas County has been a participant in <br />the national opiate litigation against opioid pharmaceutical <br />supply chain participants for their misuse, abuse, and over- <br />prescription of opioids. This is the latest round (Allocation <br />Agreement IV) of settlements in these continuing allocation <br />agreements. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutor’s Office is/has been working with outside <br />counsel Keller-Rohrback throughout this litigation and <br />settlement process. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing and County <br />participation in the Washington State Allocation agreement <br />of funds paid by the Purdue Bankruptcy and certain opioid <br />manufacturers and authorizing commission signature on all <br />required participation forms. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENT: Washington State Allocation Agreement Governing the <br />Allocation of Funds Paid by the Purdue Bankruptcy, <br />Sacklers, and Certain Opioid Manufacturers. <br />(Allocation Agreement IV) <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Stephanie Hartung, DPA.
