<br /> <br />Public Health Study Session <br />July 23, 2025 <br />at 10:00 am <br />Commissioners’ Conference Room <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />Present: Brett Wachsmith, Cory Wright <br />Absent: Laura Osiadacz <br />Public Health: Chelsey Loeffers, Candi Blackford, Kasey Knutson, Erin Moore <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 10:13am by Brett Wachsmith. <br /> <br />Citizen Comment (1 minute time limit)-None <br />Other Business <br />Introduction of Public Lands Commissioner Upthegrove and discussion on Kittitas County priorities <br />Item rescheduled. <br /> <br />Department Business <br />Naloxone Kiosk Program Overview <br />Moved to next meeting. <br /> <br />Opiod Settlement Funding Discussion/Direction <br />Chelsey Loeffers briefly summarized the opioid settlement funding work performed by the department <br />and asked the board for the approval of $100,000 annually for five years of Opioid Settlement funds to <br />the Kittitas County Public Health Department to fund the Harm Reduction Program. <br />Motion 07.01: Brett Wachsmith moved to approve the allocation of $100,000 annually for five years <br />of Opioid Settlement funds to the Kittitas County Public Health Department to fund the Harm <br />Reduction Program. Cory Wright second. All approved. Motion 07.01 carried to approve the allocation <br />of $100,000 annually for five years of Opioid Settlement funds to the Kittitas County Public Health <br />Department to fund the Harm Reduction Program for the next 5 years. <br /> <br />1/10th Sunset Preparations Discussion/Direction <br />Kasey Knutson reviewed the summary of the 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax <br />sunset preparations and asked for direction for staff to compile committee requested data, solicit public <br />comment and award recipient comment, compiled contractual reporting, and plan a Board of County <br />Commissioner public meeting to address the sunset clause on 1/10th funding. The board agreed they <br />would like information on the following:
