Ruby St., Suite 2, Ellensburg, WA 98926 <br />CDS@CO.KITTITAS.WA.US <br />Office (509) 962-7506 <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 1, 2025 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Approve Ordinance Adopting the CP-24-0001 Lewington Comprehensive <br />Plan and Non-Project Rezone Amendments to Kittitas County Code and <br />Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The County is amending Kittitas County Code and Comprehensive Plan <br />through the annual docketing procedure required by KCC 15B.03.030. <br /> <br />The Kittitas County Planning Commission held a public hearing on <br />February 11, 2025, to consider the proposed amendment to Kittitas County <br />Code and the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission made <br />recommendation of approval to the Board of County Commissioners on <br />this proposed amendment. <br /> <br />The Board of County Commissioners held an open public hearing on <br />March 18, 2025. At the public hearing and after deliberation of the <br />proposed items, the Board of County Commissioners denied the SEPA <br />Appeal and approved the proposed amendment and rezone. The <br />Commissioners, at the hearing, directed staff to prepare enabling <br />documents for the docket item. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: Community Development Services, Prosecuting Attorney and Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Ordinance adopting the Lewington Comp Plan amendment <br />and Non-Project Rezone as approved by the Board of County <br />Commissioners during the public hearing on March 18, 2025 and <br />authorize the Board Chair to sign the Ordinance. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: Ordinance with Exhibit A <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Jamey Ayling, Community Development Services, Planning Manager
