BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-0oq <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE KITTITAS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CIVIL FEE <br />SCHEDULE SETTING THE AMOUNT OF FEES THAT SHALL BE GOLLEGTED BY THE <br />SHERIFF TO COVER THE COSTS OF ADMINISTRATION AND OPEMTION FOR THE <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICIAL SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the State of Washington has established under RCW 36.18.040 <br />certain fees for official services to be charged by the Sheriff; and <br />WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners is authorized by RCW <br />36.18.040(2) to set those fees to cover the costs of administration and processing of the <br />civil services; and <br />WHEREAS, Kittitas County last changed the amounts of the Sheriffs fees with <br />Resolution 2018-217, effective December 18, 2018; costs associated with Sheriffs Levy <br />for services have risen since this last increase; and <br />WHEREAS, the Washington State Patrol is reducing their fee to process <br />fingerprints from $13.25 to $12.00, due to a study conducted by the FBl. This is effective <br />January 1,2025 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds it appropriate that costs <br />incurred for the Sheriffs official services should be borne by those seeking action by the <br />Sheriff as mandated by RCW 36.18.040(2), requiring the establishment of appropriate fees <br />pursuant to the ability created by RCW 36.18.040(3); and <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED AND lT lS HEREBY ORDERED, that the <br />schedule of Kittitas County Sheriffs civil fees is amended as follows: <br />1. For any service the cost per hour has increased to $89.00 from $63.00' <br />2. For the required FBI fingerprint-based background check fee, reduced from $13.25 <br />to $12.00. <br />3. For the clause allowing the Kittitas County Sheriffs Office to waive fees for cause, it <br />shall read: <br />"The Sheriff may, for cause waive fees pursuant to various provisions of the <br />RCW, including any matter in which a party is found to be indigent or otherwise not <br />required to pay filing and related fees as shown on the on-line fee schedule of the <br />Kittitas County Clerk." <br />Fees allowable under this section may be recovered by the prevailing party incurring the <br />same as court costs to the extent provided by RCW 36.18.040(2). <br />RESOLUTION
