KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: December 17, 2024 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of <br />an Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br />BACKGROUND: This Interlocal Agreement is between the City of Ellensburg and <br />Kittitas County for the Housing of Inmates from January 1, 2025-December 31, 2027 <br />subject to earlier termination as provided in the Agreement. The daily rate proposed is <br />$110.00/day in 2025, 2026, and 2027. The rate of compensation for any inmate requiring <br />additional or specialized conditions of incarceration to the extent that they must be placed <br />alone in a single cell designed for double occupancy shall be $220.00/day in 2025, 2026, <br />and 2027. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved <br />this Interlocal Agreement. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Execution of an <br />Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Ellensburg, Washington and the County of <br />Kittitas, Washington for the Housing of Inmates. <br />HANDLING: Please return one fully executed original to KCSO, which we will <br />provide to the City for its records. <br />LEAD STAFF: LEC Duncan <br />
