UPPER KITTITAS COUNTY SENIOR CENTER

Applicant: Upper Kittitas County Senior Center
Project Title: Access Plus: Serving our Seniors and Heros
Target Population: Seniors and Veterans
Description: The project is intended to extend the services beginning to be developed at the Senior
Center in the Upper County. Through hiring a program coordinator and other key staff, more
evidence-based programs will be developed and implemented, focusing on mental health services
for seniors and veterans.
Strengths: In general, the application was well received by the committee.
This program has numerous partnerships they are already drawing upon.
There is a robust plan to implement the program and evaluate its impact
There is an intent to write more programmatic grants to support the program past 2026 and to
be independently sustainable in the future.
Advisory Board Comments: County staff is consulting with legal counsel to determine whether
some of the funds requested are allowable. The recommended reduction in funding includes
removal of unallowable items. There was a strong plea from the advisory board to retain the
acoustic improvement so more people can hear the programs.
The advisory alternative funding is either needed and/or already provided by the county.
Requested Budget: $389,719.28
Advisory Board Recommended Budget: $250.000
