KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: November 19,2024 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to award funding as proposed to: Community Builders, Comprehensive <br />Healthcare, HopeSource, Kittitas County Friends of Animals, Kittitas County Health Network, Kittitas County <br />Recovery Community Organization, Kittitas County Superior Court, and Upper Kittitas County Senior Center <br />with the revenue generated by the 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: The 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency (1/10th) tax was <br />established on December 21, 2021. The BOCC established the 1/10th tax <br />advisory board on September 20th, 2022. <br /> <br /> The 1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax Advisory <br />Board (advisory board) was tasked with developing the goals, objectives, <br />and metrics for the use of funds generated by the mental health and <br />chemical dependency tax as well as soliciting and collecting proposals and <br />making recommendations to the BOCC. <br /> <br />In August 2024, the advisory board published a Request for Proposals for <br />new or expanded services and programs in Kittitas County to support <br />youth, veterans, and seniors. The advisory board received 13 RFP <br />responses for consideration. <br /> <br />The advisory board members reviewed and scored each application. Community Builders and Upper Kittitas County Senior <br />Center were adjusted based on allowable costs per RCW 82.14.460. <br />
