Attachment A: Kittitas County Priorities

1/10th of 1% Mental Health and Chemical Dependency Tax Grant
The overall goal of this grant is to improve behavioral health outcomes within Kittitas County
through projects that enhance access to service and care and reduce stigma. Behavioral health
refers to both mental health and substance use disorders.
The populations below have been identified by the Kittitas County Board of County Commissioners
as priority to address local needs. All proposals are required to serve at least one priority
population and clearly demonstrate how the proposed activities will support behavioral health
improvements in the selected population.
The Board of County Commissioners will prioritize projects with a prevention focus and projects
that are able to produce measurable outputs which clearly link to long term outcomes.

• Youth
For the purposes of this RFP, youth are defined as children age birth through 17.

Please note that public school districts within Kittitas County are receiving funding to
support programs within each district, therefore proposals addressing youth while in a
public-school setting may not be prioritized.

• Veterans
Veterans are defined as every person who has received an honorable discharge, is actively
serving honorably, or received a discharge for physical reasons with an honorable record
from United States military service. More details regarding this definition can be found in
RCW 41.04.007.

• Seniors
For the purposes of this RFP, seniors are defined as people age 65 and older.
