06/18/2024 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING <br /> TUESDAY 2:00 P.M. JUNE 18, 2024 <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Osiadacz and Commissioner Cory <br />Wright. Excused: Chairman Brett Wachsmith. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy Buchholz, Office <br />Administrator; Arden Thomas, Water Resource Manager; and Josh <br />Fredrickson, Public Works Director. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING WATER RIGHTS PUBLIC AUCTION PUBLIC WORKS <br />At approximately 2:00 p.m. VICE-CHAIRMAN OSIADACZ opened a Public <br />Hearing continued from May 21, 2024, to consider Leasing of Kittitas <br />County Water Rights through Public Auction. She noted the record was <br />open. ARDEN THOMAS, WATER RESOURCE PROGRAM MANAGER, provided an update and <br />recommended that the Board not schedule a public auction at this <br />time, and instead allow Staff to continue working with Roza <br />Irrigation District. She said they’d reached out to the Kittitas <br />Reclamation District to see if there was any interest in leasing <br />water, and they indicated not at this time. <br /> THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. COMMISSIONER WRIGHT moved to suspend the auction process and allow <br />Staff to continue working with the Roza Irrigation District to <br />possibly form an Agreement. VICE-CHAIRMAN OSIADACZ seconded.
