BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF IilTTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RES.LUTT'N No. ,oro- P 34 <br />AUTHORIZING CHAIR SIGNATURE ON WATERSHED SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, <br />INC. TASK ORDER NO. 5 - ELLENSBURG URBAI{ FLOODING HYDRAULIC ANALYSIS <br />WHEREAS: Kittitas County desires to participate in a City of Ellensburg project that will improve <br />information available about flood risk from Whiskey and Mercer Creeks in the city and <br />identif effective mitigation actions; and <br />WHEREAS: The Kittitas County Flood Control Zone District will participate in the City's project for <br />the purposes of coordinating this effort with District-led floodplain mapping and flood- <br />risk reduction projects; and <br />WHEREAS: The Department of Public Works procured on-call professional hydraulic and hydrologic <br />engineering services from Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc. consistent with state <br />law and county code in December 2022; and <br />WHEREAS: Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc. prepared a scope of work and fee proposal to <br />provide technical floodplain hydraulic analysis and to of coordinate this effort with <br />District-led floodplain mapping and flood-risk reduction projects; and <br />WHEREAS: The value of Task Order No. 5 exceeds the contract authorization amount currently <br />provided to the Public Works Director; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED The Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, <br />Washington, in the best interest of the public, does hereby authorize Chair signature on <br />Watershed Science and Engineering, Inc.
