KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />May 21, 2024 <br />Request to Set a Public Hearing for June 4, 2024, at <br />2:00 pm local time to consider a Lease with the <br />Kittitas County Sheriff s Office for property located <br />at the Kittitas County Airport, Bowers Field. <br />BACKGROUND: In May of 2022, the Kittitas County Sheriffs Office <br />entered into a lease agreement for Airport property <br />for one year, ending on April 30, 2023. The initial <br />lease term was written with an annual renewal <br />clause that was unclear to the parties involved for <br />billing purposes. To clarify the lease terms, the <br />lease term was rewritten to be for a three-year <br />period beginning May 1, 2024, and ending on April <br />30, 2027. After the initial term a renewal would be <br />renegotiated. No other changes were made to the <br />lease agreement. <br />The lease agreement has been reviewed and <br />approved by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and <br />the Kittitas County Sheriffs Office. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office; <br />Kittitas County Sheriffs Office <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for June 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm <br />local time, to consider a Lease with the Kittitas <br />County Sheriff s Office for County property located <br />at Bowers Field Airport. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, Public Works Director <br />
