KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Special Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 1 2:00 PM I Ma 1, 2024 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br />Others: Sheriff Clay Myers, Inspector Christopher Whitsett, LE Systems Administrator Jeremy <br />Reynolds, Assistant Finance Director Zack DeHaven, and Deputy Prosecutor Chris Horner. <br />Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 2:01 p.m. <br />Citizen Comments (1 minute time limit): None. <br />Discussion on Security Systems/Cameras: Sheriff Myers indicated this is not a budget decision and no <br />action needed, however wanted to receive clear direction for where the funds go for facilities. Zack <br />advised that the funds are put in Fund 303 (Capital projects). Zack will discuss it at the next meeting with <br />Central Services Committee. Inspector Whitsett explained the managing of the camera systems. <br />Discussion on Training Reimbursement with Counties Risk Pool for (NIJO) National institute or <br />Jail Operation: Sheriff Myers advised that this training is a budgetary expense and once we meet the <br />criteria then Washington County Risk Pool will reimburse. The county would pay the initial startup fee. <br />Our staff members need to complete 40 or more training hours before risk pool will reimburse the county. <br />Executive Session: - At 2:16 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board entering into an Executive <br />Session with Sheriff Myers, Inspector Whitsett, Deputy Prosecutor Chris Horner under RCW 42.30.110(i) <br />To discuss with legal counsel representing the agency matters relating to agency enforcement actions, or <br />to discuss with legal counsel representing the agency litigation or potential litigation to which the agency, <br />the governing body, or a member acting in an official capacity is, or is likely to become, a party, when <br />public knowledge regarding the discussion is likely to result in an adverse legal or financial consequence <br />to the agency. <br />At 2:36 p.m. the Board reconvened out of the Executive Session.
