KITTITAS COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
2024 AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: April 16, 2024
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution to Re -Authorize the
Chair's Signature on the Dunford Barn Quit Claim Deed
BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners directed staff place
the Dunford Barn onto the 2024-2029 Recreation Capital
Facility Plan. At the January 16, 2024, Agenda Session the
Chair of the Board of County Commissioners executed a
Quit Claim Deed for recording at the Kittitas County
Auditor's Office. After receiving the Quit Claim Deed
back, Public Works staff and the Grantor determined that
the Quit Claim Deed required a revision. The revised Quit
Claim Deed is now ready for execution. Subsequently,
Public Works was asked to obtain pedestrian trail access
from the barn to state lands; the owner has refused. This
action accepts the Quit Claim deed to the barn without the
requested pedestrian trail access.
INTERACTION: Public Works.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution to re -authorize the Chair's
signature on the Dunford Barn Quit Claim Deed.
HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Quit Claim Deed.
LEAD STAFF: Mark R. Cook, Director.
