KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE: <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />March 5,2024 <br />Request to Approve a Revised Resolution to Formulate <br />the Short-Term Rental Committee and Appoint initial <br />Committee members. <br />BACKGROUND <br />INTERACTION: <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />HANDLING: <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />LEAD STAFF: <br />[n2023 the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) <br />received numerous public comments regarding short <br />term rentals in upper Kittitas County. The BoCC <br />directed staff to formulate a short-term rental committee. <br />The committee would determine the need for legislation <br />related to short-term rentals. Legislation proposed would <br />be considered for the 2024 comprehensive plan <br />amendment process. <br />Public Works solicited County residents for participation <br />in an advisory committee. Sufficient applications have <br />been received. During January 22,2024, Public Works <br />Study Session applications were selected for the <br />advisory committee. Subsequently, the BoCC remanded <br />the initial appointee list to staff to vet for any code <br />enforcement issues and to ensure applicants listed a <br />home residence in Kittitas County. <br />The attached resolution formulates the Short-Term <br />Rental Committee and appoints the initial members to <br />the committee via an amended list of appointees. <br />Public Works, Community Development Services. <br />Approve the revised Resolution to Formulate the Short- <br />Term Rental Committee and appoint initial commiuee <br />members. <br />Retum one (l) copy to Public Works <br />Resolution. <br />Mark R.
