KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA SESSION DATE: October 17, 2023 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for <br />the Vantage Highway Paving Project, CRP 317-23. <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County was selected to receive funding through <br />the State Transportation Block Grant (STBG) <br />redistribution for the resurfacing of Vantage Highway. <br />INTERACTION: <br />The project includes removing and replacing the top 3" <br />wearing course of the roadway from Ellensburg City <br />limits East to No. 81 Road. The engineering and design <br />for the project has been performed by County staff. <br />Construction is expected to begin April 1, 2024, and take <br />up to 45 working days to complete. <br />To make use of the redistributed STBG funds, it was <br />required to have WSDOT obligate the funds in early <br />September. It is required to advertise a Notice of Call for <br />Sealed Bids within six (6) weeks of obligation. <br />The Grant requires a 13.5% Local funds match and the <br />engineers estimated range for construction is <br />$3,275,000.00 - $3,625,000.00. <br />Bids are scheduled to be received on November 9, 2023, <br />at 1 Oam at the Public Works office. <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Notice of Call for Sealed Bids and <br />Advertise as requested for the Vantage Highway Paving <br />Project, CRP 317-23. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids. <br />LEAD STAFF: Josh Fredrickson, County Engineer <br />
