2023-02-13 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AIRPORT STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />MONDAY 11:00 AM February 13, 2023 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright, Vice Char Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner Brett <br />Wachsmith <br />Others: Director Carlsen, Terry LaRue, Lt. Dykes, Lt. Bretman <br />MOU for Bowers Field to be a Staging Area <br />Director Ohl updated the commissioners that he was contacted by the Washington Military <br />Department Emergency Management Division and FEMA to use Bowers Field Airport as a <br />staging area in the event of a natural disaster. There would be two staging areas, one on the <br />aeronautical side and one on the business park. If the land gets developed the staging area would <br />be moved. <br />Request was Approved. <br />Request to Approve funding for 2023 Airport Projects <br />Director Ohl explained to the commissioners that in the next 5 years, the airport has many <br />projects coming up and will need money in order to fund these projects. As well, the airport is <br />going to need money in order to keep up with the grant matches from previous projects. The <br />commissioners agreed that the airport will get the money for the grant match as well as the <br />projects. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />The next consent agenda will include an ordinance and resolution for the new T-hangar leases <br />and for the 5-year rental increases. <br />Citizens Comments: <br />The miller building project should consider a metal roofing in the cost analysis, as well as look at <br />grants for the project. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:23 am <br /> <br /> <br />
