2022-10-10 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY <br />AIRPORT STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />MONDAY 11:00 AM July 10, 2023 <br />Board members present: Chair Laura Osiadacz, Vice Chair Cory Wright, Commissioner Brett <br />Wachsmith <br />Others: <br />Discussion of Airport Documents <br />Director Ohl was advised to complete the Bowers Field Airport Documents. The draft documents <br />were completed and shown to the commissioners. After edits were recommended to Director Ohl <br />it was recommended that the edits be made and bring to the Consent Agenda for approval. <br />Discussion Only: Leases <br />Director Ohl updated the commissioners on some past due leases and his plan for getting them <br />all up to date. As well, Director Ohl advised that since part of the reason some of the hangar <br />tenants didn’t have a lease yet was the difference between a 50-year lease and a 75-year lease. <br />One of the ideas Director Ohl pitched was to give Tarp-It the 75 year lease to get him to pay. <br />Discussion Only: New Staff <br />Director Ohl asked the commissioners how likely it would be for the airport to hire another <br />operations employee to help Alan out on the airfield and with projects. The commissioners <br />recommended to hold off on this discussion until a later date. <br />Discussion Only: New Consultant <br />Kittitas County Airport has been with Century West for the past five years and it is time for <br />Bowers field to choose a new consultant. Director Ohl updated the commissioners that two <br />consultant groups are interested in applying, and there is a selection committee made up of Codi <br />Fortier, David Ohl, Darwin Triggs, Mark Cook, and Brian McElroy. The decision on the new <br />consultant recommendation should be made by the beginning of November. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:45 AM <br /> <br /> <br />
