BOARD OF COLINTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COTINTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTTON No. 2023 - o 5 q <br />RATIFYING THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOROS SIGNATURE ON PURCHASE <br />ORDER NO. 123 IN THE AMOUNT OF $68,038.63 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW <br />PUBLIC WORKS RE,PLACEMENT VEHICLE <br />WHEREAS: Public Works manages an equipment rental and revolving fund consistent with <br />state law requirements; and <br />WHEREAS: Public Works maintains an ending fund balance reserve to manage unforeseen <br />equipment replacement needs in any given year; and <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />WHEREAS: <br />Recently, Equipment No. 196 (2015 Ford Crew Cab Flatbed pickup) <br />unexpectedly "blew" the motor and repair estimates are costly with significant <br />time loss of vehicle use; and <br />Public Works has experienced significant delays receiving pickups servicing the <br />maintenance fleet the past couple of years owing to supply chain impacts; and <br />Public Works was able to secure an adequate replacement vehicle locally, the <br />Public Works Director signed Purchase Order No. 123 securing the purchase of <br />the vehicle; and <br />Vice-Chairman <br />ABSENT <br />WHEREAS: The Public Works Director's purchasing authorization is $50,000. <br />NOW' THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners, in the <br />best interest of the public, does hereby ratify the Public Works Director's signature on Purchase <br />Order No. 123 in the amount of $68,038.63. <br />DATED this 4th day of April2023,at Ellensburg, Washington. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITAS GTON <br />Wright, <br />the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />1,ilil$l\ <br />n Deputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchholz <br />Laura Osiadacz, Commissioner
