2023-03-06 MINUTES 1

COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING

MONDAY 10:00 A.M. MARCH 6, 2023

Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.

Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Kady Porterfield, Event
Center Director; and Kristi More, The Ferguson Group.

SPECIAL MEETING THE FERGUSON GROUP COMMISSIONERS

At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting for an update
from The Ferguson Group.

Kristi More, The Ferguson Group, distributed a copy of the 2021
Federal Legislative Platform. She said the document needed to be
updated and reviewed each section with the Board. Some of the
changes included removing the section “Coronavirus Pandemic” as well
as the Multi-Model Transportation Hub. Under the section of
Infrastructure, the Board would like to see the Kittitas Valley
Event Center moved to item #4 and change it to the Ellensburg Rodeo
Arena. Other items reviewed included Community Support & Economic
Development; Public Safety; and Natural Resources. Kristi said she
would make the recommended changes on the document and fact check
the County information too. The Board asked her to send the draft
for review to the Commissioners Staff and to forward it to them.

She encouraged the Board to go to Washington D.C. to get in front of
key people with their issues, especially on the I-90 project. The
Board explained they could not go together as it would constitute an
Open Public Meeting. Commissioner Osiadacz said she would be willing
to go to Washington D.C. in the fall and would work on a schedule
with Kristi.

OTHER BUSINESS

Commissioner Osiadacz wanted to discuss agenda items for the joint
meeting with the City of Roslyn. Chairman Wright said he would work
on some language and coordinate it with Staff for the meeting
agenda.

The meeting was concluded at 11:03 a.m.
