KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br />AGENDA SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 16, 2022 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Vantage <br />Highway Over Cascade Canal Bridge Replacement Project, CRP 310- <br />21. <br />BACKGROUND: The Vantage Highway Over Cascade Canal Bridge Replacement <br />Project will take place at Milepost 5.25 on Vantage Highway. The <br />project will include replacing the existing bridge #89342, guardrail, <br />approaches, and shoulders to meet current WSDOT safety <br />specifications and requirements. <br />Bridge construction is planned to occur between irrigation seasons, <br />November — April, with final roadway paving in the Spring of 2023. <br />The work is being completed with Federal Funding from the State <br />Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program. The engineers <br />estimated range for construction is: $1,500,000.00 to $2,000,000.00. <br />Call for bids are advertised in the legal newspaper of record and the <br />Daily Journal of Commerce. <br />Bids are scheduled to be delivered by 10 AM Thursday September 8, <br />2022, and will be opened at the Public Works office. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Move to approve Notice of Call for Sealed Bids for the Vantage <br />Highway Over Cascade Canal Bridge Replacement, CRP 310-21, and <br />direct staff to advertise as requested. <br />HANDLING: Return one (1) copy to Public Works. <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Call for Sealed Bids. <br />LEAD STAFF: Joshua Fredrickson <br />County Engineer <br />
