Cleaning supplies are needed to
help keep the facility clean and safe, so funds will also be used for purchasing additional
cleaning supplies. These funds will also be used to purchase additional UV machines.
Bringing additional units into the facility will allow our employees to be more efficient day
to day, while keeping more areas sanitized. The additional items to be purchased with these
funds will be a large TV with a secure enclosure to be placed in out receiving/releasing area
to help educate incoming inmates about ways to help detect and deter COVID-19.
The total awarded is $471,750.

INTERACTION: This interagency agreement was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas
County Prosecutor’s Office.

RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution awarding funding for a Grant
pursuant to the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) by the
Washington State Department of Health, through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021,
P.L. 117-2 and under the Detection & Mitigation of COVID-19 in Confinement Facilities
project.

HANDLING: Please return 1 signed original to KCSO.
