COMMISSIONERS’ MINUTES <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />THURSDAY 1:00 PM 5/26/2022 <br /> <br />Board members present: Laura Osiadacz, Cory Wright, Brett Wachsmith <br />Others: Mark Cook, Ken Grannan, Kelee Hodges, Kristine Foreman, Jeanne Killgore, members of the <br />public <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 1:00 PM. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH AFSCME LOCAL 792-CH <br />(COURTHOUSE) TO INCLUDE DEPUTY AUDITOR I IN CURRENT CONTRACT <br />HR Director Foreman presented the Board with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to include the <br />Deputy Auditor I in the current Local 792-CH bargaining agreement. Commissioner Wachsmith moved to <br />approve the MOU with Local 792-CH. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the motion. Motion was passed; <br />3:0. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH AFSCME LOCAL 792 (ROAD) TO <br />RECOGNIZE AND CLASSIFY LEAD EQUIPMENT OPERATOR <br />Director Foreman presented the Board with an MOU to recognize the new Lead Equipment Operator <br />position in the Local 792 bargaining agreement. Commissioner Wachsmith asked if the MOU had been <br />reviewed by the Prosecutor’s Office. Director Cook responded that the Prosecutor’s Office had reviewed <br />the MOU and had no concerns. Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve the MOU with Local 792 to <br />recognize and classify the Lead Equipment Operator position. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded the <br />motion. Motion was approved; 3:0. <br />REQUEST TO APPROVE NEW WAGE RANGE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL/TRANSPORTATION PLANNER <br />Director Cook advised the Board that both of his previous ET Planners left the County for positions with <br />higher pay. He proposed increasing the Planner wage range by 7.5% to bring the position in line with <br />market comparables as well as maintain internal equity with other Public Works leadership positions. The <br />Board provided direction to increase the wage range of the ET Planner by 7.5%. <br />AIRPORT DIRECTOR RECRUITMENT <br />The Board reviewed the Airport Director job description and discussed their recruitment preferences. The <br />Board agreed to accept updates to the job description made by HR and Commissioner Wachsmith, and <br />directed HR to post the position as soon as possible.
