BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />A RESOLUTION & ORDER DIRECTING THE KITTITAS COUNTY TREASURER <br />TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF TAX TITLE PARCEL #524833 <br />RESOLUTTON NO. 2022 - 0L+ + <br />Whereas,The Kittitas County Treasurer's Office has found that parcel #524833,which is held <br />as Tax Title by Kittitas County, is subnrerged in the Columbia River and surrounded <br />by other parcels owned by Grant County PUD; <br />Whereas,Grant County PUD has provided documents that indicate this parcel should have <br />been part of the land given to Grant County PUD for construction of the Wanapum <br />Dam; <br />Whereas,Grant County PUD has expressed a willingness to accept ownership of Tax Title <br />Parcel #524833; <br />Whereas,Pursuant to RCW 36.35.150(1), the county legislative authority may dispose of tax <br />foreclosed property without a call for bids if (a) the transfer is to a governmental <br />agency for public purposes, if (b) it is not practical to build because of the physical <br />characteristics of the land, or if (c) the assessed value is less than 5500. Parcel <br />#524833 meets all three of these criteria; and <br />Whereas, Pursuant to RCW 36.35.0L0 and RCW 36.34.130, the county legislative authority <br />has the power to devote tax title lands to public use under the control of other <br />governmental or quasi-governmental agencies; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas County, <br />Washington, hereby finds it is in the best interests of Kittitas County to transfer Tax Title parcel <br />#524833 to Grant County PUD, and that such transfer is for a public purpose (ie, ongoing <br />Wanapum Dam operations, and the likelihood this parcelshould have been transferred to Grant <br />County PUD in 1915 for construction of the dam); it is not practicable to build on this parcel <br />because it is submerged in the Columbia River; and the assessed value of the property is less than <br />Ssoo. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT FURTHER RESOLVED the Board of County Commissioners of Kittitas <br />County, Washington, hereby authorizes, orders, and directs the Kittitas County Treasurer to <br />transfer Tax Title Parcel #524833 to Grant County PUD, as allowed by RCW 36.35.010, RCW <br />36.34.L30, and RCW 36.35.150(1). The Kittitas County Treasurer is authorized to take whatever <br />actions are needed to facilitate this transfer.
