12/16/21 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON CONFERENCE ROOM/WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> THURSDAY 9:00 A.M DECEMBER 16, 2021 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Carly Brettmann, <br />Communications Director; Bill Clarke, County Lobbyist; and 1 member <br />of the public. SPECIAL MEETING BILL CLARKE/LEGISLATIVE UPDATE COMMISSIONERS <br />At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to meet <br />with Bill Clarke and receive legislative updates. <br /> <br />Bill Clarke reviewed the 2022 legislative priorities and policy <br />issues for 2022. He said the Legislature will have a short session <br />beginning on January 10th and the budget will be unique. He provided <br />information on fish barrier removal, broadband access, capital <br />investments, preservation and maintenance of county roads and <br />bridges, GMA, water, climate change, forest maintenance, solid <br />waste, unfunded mandates, public health, behavioral health, access <br />to judicial equity, responding to the Blake decision, affordable <br />housing, pandemic resiliency, fire, and the OPMA/PRA. He also <br />reviewed information on electronic bidding. <br /> <br />The Board also discussed Cle Elum Ridge, Springwood Ranch, and asked <br />for a list of legislative priorities to be brought forth at a later <br />date for their consideration. <br /> OTHER BUSINESS <br />Vice-Chairman Osiadacz asked Staff to invite Sheriff Myers and <br />Darren Higashiyama, Chief Deputy, to the next Office Administration <br />meeting, to obtain an update on the Elk Meadows Bridge and to see if <br />there’s any anticipated restoration for access to properties in the <br />area. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:50 a.m. <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> Julie Kjorsvik Brett Wachsmith, Chairman
