BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021.lt0 <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING FUNDING FOR A GRANT PURSUANT TO STATE FUNDING <br />THAT WAS ALLOCATED TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO VERIFY THE ADDRESS AND <br />RESIDENCY OF ALL REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS AND KIDNAPPING OFFENDERS <br />UNDER RCW 9A.44.130. <br />WHEREAS, the Washington State Legislature provides funding to local law enforcement <br />agencies through WASPC (the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs) to verify the <br />address and residency of all registered sex offenders and kidnapping offenders under RCW <br />94.44.130; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds awarded are designed to support all aspects of Registered Sex <br />Offender Address Verification, and are required to be used for face{o-face verification of a sex <br />offender's address at the place of residency; and <br />WHEREAS, the grant cycle follows the state fiscal year, starting July 1 ,2021 and ending <br />June 30, 2022,wilh funds disbursed in equal allotments each quarter; and <br />WHEREAS, funding from this program will also be used to send at least one staff person to <br />the offenderWatch User Group meeting and the SONAR Committee Meeting; and <br />WHEREAS, the funding supports the efforts of the Sheriff's Office to enforce the legal <br />requirements of Chapter 9A.44 RCW and thus improve the community's safety, <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED AND lT lS HEREBY ORDERED, that this <br />Agreement between Kittitas County and the Washington Association of Sheriffs and police Chiefs <br />be adopted. <br />ADOPTED this tdb-day of h-'L"rr 2021\)0 <br />BOARD OF CO <br />Chairman <br />, Vice-Chair lgSENt <br />Cory Wright, Commissioner <br />COMMISSIONERS <br />INGTON <br />APP}CVED AS TO FORM: <br />i L,.... --\| )*zLs11 <br />VlDouglas R <br />n CJerk of the Board- Julie Kjorsvik <br />trdeputy Clerk of the Board- Mandy Buchho <br />RESOLUTION <br />lz <br />itchell, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
