06/08/21 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> TUESDAY 3:00 P.M. JUNE 8, 2021 <br />Board members present via Webex: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice- <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz, and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others via Webex: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Mark <br />Cook, Public Works Director; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Chris Whitsett, <br />Inspector; Ben Kokjer, Chief Deputy; and 5 members of the public. SPECIAL MEETING MEETING WITH FOREST SERVICE COMMISSIONERS <br />At 3:00 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to discuss <br />next steps for Travel Management on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National <br />Forest. <br /> <br />Victoria Wilkins, Public Affairs, USFS initiated introductions from <br />the Forest Service, and Chairman Wachsmith initiated introductions <br />from the County. <br /> <br />Sendi Kalcic, Planner, USFS presented to the Board what had been <br />happening with travel management in the Forest since 2006. Ms. <br />Wilkins asked the Board what role they wished to play in this <br />process. Currently they are in the middle of establishing <br />collaboration with all key stakeholders to the Forest. Commissioner <br />Osiadacz stated she would like to see road maintenance in the Forest <br />be distributed between all stakeholders. There needs to be a well <br />thought out plan in place for the enforcement action on USFS roads <br />with the different classes of vehicles. Higher traffic areas will <br />see the most impact. Commissioner Wright asked the USFS to keep the <br />Public Lands Advisory Committee in the stakeholder list.
