04/14/21 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON WEBEX SPECIAL MEETING <br /> WEDNESDAY 2:30 P.M. APRIL 14, 2021 <br />Board members present via Webex: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice- <br />Chairman Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright. <br /> <br />Others via Webex: Taylor Crouch, Administrative Assistant; Jim <br />Goeben, IT director; Doug Fessler, Network Administrator; Mark Cook, <br />Public Works Director, and 8 members of the public. SPECIAL MEETING BROADBAND PRESENTATION COMMISSIONERS <br />At 2:30 p.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to have a <br />presentation from CenterFuse on Broadband in the County. <br /> LETTER SUPPORT FOR FISH COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Peggy Morache, Executive Director of FISH asked the Board for their <br />support on a letter for a grant to Representative Kim Schrier. <br />Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Board signature on a Letter <br />of Support for FISH to Congresswoman Kim Schrier. Commissioner <br />Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> PRESENTATION BROADBAND PRESENTATION COMMISSIONERS <br />Linda Schactler, Vice Chair for CenterFuse reviewed the PowerPoint <br />on Broadband in the County to the Commissioners. There was review of <br />the positive and negatives for the topic on the County. The <br />Commissioners thanked everyone on the call for their work on <br />bringing this forward as the last year highlighted the need for this <br />service in the community. The Board was able to ask clarifying <br />questions. The next identified step by this group was to start a <br />Broadband Action Team with key community stakeholders.
