KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: April 6, 2021 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Resolution Authorizing the Chair's <br />signature on the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />for the Vantage Highway Project, CRP 298-19. <br />BACKGROUND: On December 19, 2019, Kittitas County Public Works was <br />advised by Washington State Department of Transportation <br />(WSDOT) that our Vantage Highway Project was selected to <br />receive funding through the Highway Safety Improvement <br />Program (HSIP). <br />This project will be combined with an asphalt overlay that will <br />happen concurrently in the same location with a portion of the <br />funding coming through the Rural Arterial Program. <br />Public Works is preparing to solicit for bids In April of 2021. <br />This requires the Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />to be signed and approved by the Chair of the BOCC and <br />WSDOT Local Programs prior to Federal funds being released. <br />The Project Prospectus for the engineering phase was approved <br />in February of 2020, Resolution 2020-023. A resolution to award <br />the design contract to KPG P.S. occurred on November 3, 2020 <br />(2020-185). A new Project Prospectus for the construction phase <br />is required prior to the Federal Funding being released for a new <br />phase of the project. Kittitas County is ready for the construction <br />phase and is prepared to get approval from WSDOT Local <br />Programs. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Board's signature on the <br />Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus for the Vantage <br />Highway Project, CRP 298-19. <br />HANDLING: Return two (2) originals to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Resolution, Local Agency Federal Aid Project Prospectus <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
