KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: April 6, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to execute Addendum to Agreements for Kittitas County <br />Superior Court Indigent Defense Services with Margie Alumbaugh <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: In 2021 the Superior Court entered into agreements with attorneys to <br />provide indigent defense services for adult and juvenile criminal <br />matters as follows: <br /> <br />2021 Felony Juvenile Total <br />Powers 101 21 $102,050 <br />King 35 7 $35,182 <br />Zimmerman 67 13 $67,086 <br />McBride 67 13 $67,086 <br />Alumbaugh 30 6 $30,156 <br />TOTAL 300 60 $301,560 <br /> <br />Guy Zimmerman terminated his Agreement effective March 1, 2021, and the balance of his cases <br />were given to Candy Powers and Margie Alumbaugh. The Addendum provides for indigent <br />defense services for adult and juvenile criminal matters as follows: <br /> <br />2021 Felony Juvenile Total <br />Powers 130 21 $127,396.00 <br />King 35 7 $35,182.00 <br />McBride 67 13 $67,086.00 <br />Alumbaugh 62 11 $61,404.00 <br />Zimmerman 6 9 $11,148.00 <br />TOTAL 300 61 $302,216.00 <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The Prosecutors office has reviewed and signed the proposed <br />Addendum to Agreements. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Execute the Agreement for Kittitas County Superior Court Indigent <br />Defense Services with Margie Alumbaugh <br /> <br />HANDLING: Original – Clerk of the Board <br /> Copy – Auditor <br /> Copy – Prosecutor <br /> Copy – Superior Court <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: 4 Agreements for Kittitas County Superior Court Indigent Defense <br />Services with Margie Alumbaugh <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Sarah Keith, Superior Court Administrator
