We have been in this lease since May of 1977. We have always worked with the County Public Works office in regards to our lease and the addendums for that lease. Recently Kittitas County created the Airport Department and hired Benjamin West as the Operations Manager. We have had a couple conversations with Benjamin regarding our current lease and are looking forward to building a relationship with him and the new Airport Department. In the County's transition of moving the management of our lease from the County Public Works office to the new Airport Department, our invoice for the annual lease payment did not reach us. It wasn't until we had a conversation with Benjamin in November that we were made aware it was outstanding. This past year has been extraordinary, on so many levels, so we are asking for a one-time forgiveness of the $3,410.25 late fee on our account (and any additional since the date of notice). With the current addendum signed for the next 4 years, we have created a process to insure our lease payment is made by mid-July every year. The Department of Natural Resources is looking forward to a transparent process with the creation of the new Airport Department and the staff in place to deal directly with our lease.
