BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />COUNTY OF KITTITAS <br />STATE OF WASHINGTON <br />RESOLUTION SPECIFYING THE COMPOSITION OF THE ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE FOR THE NEW COURTHOUSE <br />RESOLUTIONNo. 202t - 00@ <br />WHEREAS: Resolution2020-051 provided for the formation of a committee to provide <br />community input regarding the potential construction of a new County <br />Courthouse; and <br />WHEREAS: The precise composition of this committee was not specified at that time; and <br />WHEREAS: Circumstances have changed to the extent that the implementation of the prior <br />Resolution is desired; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the New Courthouse Advisory <br />Committee shall consist of representatives from the following stakeholder groups: <br />2 (two) members from each of the Commissioner Districts; 1 (one) member from residing <br />in the City of Ellensburg; one to be selected from among county employees, and the Chair, who <br />will be a member of the Board of County Commissioners and selected from among that body. <br />The Committee will be staffed by a representative from the Treasurer's office. <br />Their term of appointment shall be for two years, except the member appointed to represent <br />Kittitas County shall serve "at-will". At any point of a vacancy, ineluding at the time of the initial <br />formation of the committee, the Board of County Commissioners shall advertise for the <br />appointment to the vacancy and make such replacement appointment. <br />The function of the committee is to make recommendations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners as to the feasibility or advisability of constructing a new courthouse. The <br />committee shall submit a report of its activities and recommendations to the Board of County <br />Commissioners quarterly. <br />The meetings will be conducted according to Robert's Rules of Order and be subject to the <br />Open Public Meetings Act. All correspondence and documents created by the committee shall be <br />subject to the Public Records Act. The members of the Committee shall receive appropriate <br />training as to the requirements of these two laws prior,to starting their duties. <br />The Committee members (except the county representative and the chairperson) shall not <br />be considered employees of the county nor receive any compensation or benefits. The committee <br />members (except the county representative and the chairperson) shall not receive county email <br />accounts.
