KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF’S OFFICE <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: January 5, 2021 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Acknowledge the awarded grant between Kittitas <br />County and the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Kittitas County Corrections Center has been awarded this grant for <br />$600,000 from the Office of Justice Programs to provide improved treatment for inmates <br />with diagnosed substance use disorders. These funds will be received over three years <br />and will be used to develop a working partnership with a community-based provider of <br />(MAT) Medication-assisted-treatment for inmates with addition and other issues. <br />Treatment and counseling programs that began in the jail will be handed off for ongoing <br />outpatient treatment after a jail sentence is completed. <br /> <br />INTERACTION: The awarded grant has been reviewed and approved by the Kittitas <br />County Prosecutor’s Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Acknowledge the awarded grant between Kittitas <br />County and the Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Return one signed original to the Sheriff’s Office. <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Command staff
