KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: December 15, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Set a Public Hearing for January 5, 2021 at 2pm local <br />time, to consider a countywide telecommunications franchise with <br />Spectrum Pacific West, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of Charter <br />Communications, Inc. <br />BACKGROUND: Spectrum Pacific West, LLC (Charter Communications) contacted <br />Public Works staff to work on a franchise renewal for countywide <br />telecommunication. Staff has been working with the Prosecuting <br />Attorney's Office on updates to the franchise and both parties have <br />come to an agreement on changes proposed. The franchise <br />agreement will be for a ten (10) year period and will be revaluated <br />at the end of said term. <br />Spectrum Pacific West, LLC (Charter Communications) will <br />execute the franchise once Board of County Commissioner <br />approval is obtained. The franchise will then be recorded by <br />Public Works staff. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works; Prosecuting Attorney's Office <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a public hearing on January 5, 2021 at 2:00 pm local time and <br />advertise accordingly, to a countywide telecommunications <br />franchise with Spectrum Pacific West, LLC, an indirect subsidiary <br />of Charter Communications, Inc. <br />ATTACHMENTS: None. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook <br />Director of Public Works <br />
