KITTITAS COUNTY <br />EC STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />BOCC CONFERENCEROOM,205 WEST 5TH ROOM 108 -ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM October 14,2020 <br />Board members present:Chairman Brett Wachsmith (via Webex),Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz (via <br />Webex) <br />Others:Event Center Director Kady Porterfield (via Webex),Event Center Program Manager Lacie <br />Dawson (via Webex) <br />Call to Order:Chairman Wachsmith called the meeting to order at 10:01am <br />General Event and Rental Updates:After having been mostly closed due to COVID,we are able to <br />begin using Bloom for clubs again. <br />Self-Promoted Events Business:No discussion. <br />Approval of the 2021-2022 Carnival Agreement for the Kittitas County Fair:The prior agreement <br />was to cover the carnival for 2020-2021 -the agreement was pushed back 1 year due to fair cancellation <br />for 2020.Aside from changing the dates,there are no other changes to the agreement.Commissioer <br />Osiadacz made a motion to approve the 2021-2022 carnival agreementfor the Kittitas County Fair. <br />Commissioner Wachsmith seconded.No discussion.Motion passed 2-0. <br />Sponsor Business:No updates at this time.Most sponsors are waiting for the economy to get back on <br />track. <br />Special Projects:With CARES funds,Kady has purchased portable hand washing stations for use during <br />fair and other large events. <br />Posse Barns:Mike Flory inspected and did a draft/specs for repair.A request for small works proposals <br />has been sent out. <br />Security:Bids came in at around $26,000 for fencing with an electronic gate.Will wait until Armory <br />parking lot paving is done.Kady applied for a law and justice grant to purchase wi-fi cameras for added <br />security on grounds. <br />Buckaroo Stands:The roof needs additional repairs from 2018 replacement project -screw holes were <br />not filled in properly.Kady is working with prior contractor to make repairs.Spray foam and wall <br />finishing will be done in the early spring -after leaks are repaired. <br />OTHER BUSINESS:None. <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:12am. <br />KITTITASCOUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />KITTITASCOUNTY,WASHINGTON <br />Kady Po rfield Brett Wachsmith,Chairman <br />2020-10-14 MINUTES 1
