KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: October 20, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to set a Public Hearing for November 3, <br />2020 at 2:00 pm to consider updating Kittitas <br />County Code Chapter 10.12.010 Stops and Yields <br />designated for the intersection of Prater Road and <br />Sorenson Road. <br />BACKGROUND: The intersection of Prater Road and Sorenson Road <br />currently has a Yield sign in place. A longtime <br />resident of the area requested that the current <br />signage be replaced with a Stop sign due to driver <br />inattention and safety concerns. <br />INTERACTION: <br />Additionally, Public Works has internally <br />discussed with the Traffic Foreman and <br />Maintenance Manager confirming this change is <br />the appropriate intersection control signing for the <br />intersection of Prater Road and Sorenson Road. <br />Public Works <br />RECOMMENDATION: Set a Public Hearing for November 3, 2020 at 2:00 <br />pm to consider updating Kittitas County Code <br />Chapter 10.12.010 Stops and Yields designated for <br />the intersection of Prater Road and Sorenson Road. <br />HANDLING: Return one Notice of Public Hearing to Public <br />Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Notice of Public Hearing <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark Cook, Director <br />
