2020-09-29 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
WEBEX
SPECIAL MEETING

TUESDAY 10:30 A.M. SEPTEMBER 29, 2020

Board members present: Chairman, Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman
Laura Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright.

Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Patti
Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager/Interim
Maintenance Director; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the Board I
and 7 members of the public.

SPECIAL MEETING GLASS BRIEFING COMMISSIONERS

At 10:30 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to
receive a briefing from Patti Johnson, Solid Waste
Director/Project Manager/Interim Maintenance Director regarding
the County’s position on glass recycling.

Ms. Johnson reviewed the issues the County is faced with and the
tasks that would need to be accomplished and managed. She said
that staffing wise it’s not feasible and there is no location
for it. There are risks of contamination and as of right now
they have one person wanting to do it, however they are looking
for funding for it.

The Board stated that they support recycling but understand that
it should be a private venture and are supportive of private
citizens working on that business venture.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:47 a.m.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD II KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Buchholz Brett Wachsmith, Chairman
