KITTITAS COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AGENDA DATE <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />August 4, 2020 <br />Request to set a Public Hearing to consider the Proposed <br />Establishment of an Additional 4.1 miles of Parke Creek <br />Road <br />BACKGROUND: The Public Lands Committee desires establishing an <br />additional 4.1 miles (+/-) of unopened County Right of <br />Way beyond the current end of county road at Parke Creek <br />Road. County Surveyor Turnbull's research has been <br />affirmed by the Prosecuting Attorney's Office as being <br />"Public Highway" (Revised Code of Washington <br />36.75.080). A public hearing is required to receive the <br />Engineer's report from the County Engineer regarding the <br />proposed action. The current gathering restriction of ten <br />(10) imposed by the Governor will likely force some mix of <br />in person testimony with virtual testimony. <br />INTERACTION: Public Works, Prosecuting Attorney's Office <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Notice of Public Hearing for August 18th, <br />2020 at 2:00 PM local time in the Board's Auditorium. <br />HANDLING: Return one original to Public Works <br />ATTACHMENTS: Exhibit depicting additional length. <br />LEAD STAFF: Mark R.
