KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: Tuesday, August 4, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Naming the <br />County Owned Property at the Pond on Naneum Road North of Vantage Highway to <br />`Thompson Park' <br />BACKGROUND: The purpose is to rename this property in honor of Deputy Ryan <br />Thompson for his dedication to his service in Law Enforcement as he was murdered in the <br />line of duty on March 19, 2019. <br />The renaming of this property in his name recognizes not only his service, but his beliefs as <br />he was an outdoor recreation enthusiast enjoying fishing, hiking, camping and otherwise <br />enjoying the great outdoors; therefore, renaming this property in his honor would be a <br />tribute to Ryan, his service and his family. <br />INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved <br />this amendment. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Naming the <br />County Owned Property at the Pond on Naneum Road North of Vantage Highway to <br />`Thompson Park' <br />HANDLING: Please return one signed copy to the Sheriff's Office. <br />LEAD STAFF: Clay Myers, Sheriff <br />
