Law & Justice Study Session Minutes <br />March 6, 2019 <br />Commissioners Auditorium <br />Meeting called to order at 0803 a.m. <br />Present: Commissioner Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner Cory Wright, Undersheriff Myers and Sue <br />Higginbotham with Auditor's Office. <br />Thorp Community Days Event — Undersheriff Myers mentioned that we don't believe there is a need to <br />request event permit for this Event. Recommends no permit needed. <br />Action — Board approved. <br />L&J Council recommendation to fund Special LE Training from grant funds — Undersheriff Myers <br />mentioned he would like to see this training fully funded. This would be for CWU and representatives from <br />other areas to attend. This increase in funds is very beneficial for CWU. <br />Action — Request for BOCC to fully fund for training. Board approved. <br />3/1 Oth Sales Tax Initiative renewal discussion — Per Undersheriff Myers the expenses will end 2021. Request <br />discussion to run this next year and remove the sunset clause. It's passed the last few times. Sue mentioned <br />the countywide deadline would be mid-May. In November will be the State wide measures. Sue also <br />indicated next February 2020 and two schools will be on the ballot. <br />Undersheriff Myers mentioned to have a discussion with 3/10th committee to discuss and to also discuss with <br />Jerry Pettit. Per Sue, this November will be the Initiatives and junior tax districts.
