Law & Justice Study Session Minutes <br />April 4, 2018 <br />Commissioners Auditorium <br />Meeting called to order at 0805 a.m. <br />Present: Commissioners Laura Osiadacz, Obie O'Brien, Paul Jewell, Undersheriff Myers, Judy Pless with <br />Auditor's Office, Jim Goeben and Andrew Drain with IT and Dan Carlson with Community Development <br />Services. <br />Discuss IT policies as they relate to suspicious email, Facebook responses and computer rotation <br />Undersheriff Myers mentioned that the computer rotation was already address yesterday. <br />Undersheriff Myers requested the County provide an option for reporting suspicious email to IT and that IT <br />create a system or process for analyzing the email and reporting back to the submitter. The Undersheriff <br />believes the county is at risk if we do not have the ability to analyze certain emails. Jim Goeben mentioned <br />that the Governor recently signed new legislation that helps with the concerns of Public Disclosure requests. <br />Action taken — Commissioner Jewell tasked Jim Goeben to do a procedure to be reviewed. Jim will do next <br />week and put on Agenda. <br />Undersheriff brought up the Facebook responses and Jim Goeben and he said that IT and Legal had written 4 <br />years ago and BOCC adopted. Undersheriff said we have Policy concerns relating to IT or county policy <br />dictating how and to whom Sheriff's Staff will respond, that this should be the responsibility of the <br />individual Elected Offices. Commissioner Jewell said their office has standard language. <br />Action taken — Commissioner Jewell requested that Jim Goeben get and opinion from legal and to also work <br />with IT committee with options. <br />Finalize Capitol Facilities Process — Undersheriff asked how do request for Capital Facilities. Paul said that <br />Public Works was overseeing and handling it and then it was put back to CDS (Community Development <br />Services). Andrew is working with Judy on adding the request process on CAMAS. The deadline for <br />created the list, per Dan Carlson is June 30tH Per Paul Jewell you can raise public funds without being on <br />Capital Facilities Plan. <br />No other business. <br />Meeting adjourned at 08:41 a.m. <br />Clayt n Myers, Unders eriff <br />Laura Osiadacz, Chairman <br />
