<br />03/13/2018 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 1:00 P.M. MARCH 13, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien and Commissioner Paul <br />Jewell. Excused: Chairman Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Judy Pless, Budget <br />& Finance Manager; Jerry Pettit, Auditor; Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the <br />Board; Chris Horner, Deputy Prosecutor. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING ADMISSIONS TAX-AMENDMENT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Vice-Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to discuss proposed <br />amendments to the County Admissions Tax, Kittitas County Code 3.22. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell stated that the amendment he brought forward for the <br />Board to consider is addressing an unforeseen issue that came up for <br />Rodeo events where there is a cash “purse”. He stated that they didn’t <br />intend on collecting admissions tax on those funds and this is <br />correcting that problem (KCC 3.22.010 definitions). <br /> <br />Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager presented additional changes for <br />discussion/consideration as follow up to a meeting held approximately a <br />year ago when they were noticing some areas for improvement and clarity <br />in the process. She addressed areas of concern in the following <br />3.22.010, 3.22.020, 3.22.030, 3.22.040, 3.22.050, 3.22.070 and 3.22.120. <br />Ms. Pless also requested that Staff work on the Special Event <br />Application to add in the 501c3 part of the application process. <br /> <br />Deputy Horner was given direction on each proposed/discussed amendment <br />and to revise the proposed Code as discussed. Jerry Pettit, Auditor; <br />Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager & Deputy Prosecutor Horner will <br />work on how to “prosecute” in accordance with KCC 3.22.120. Once <br />completed, Deputy Horner will meet with everyone & present/review the <br />changes for accuracy, prior to setting a Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Staff was directed to set a Special Meeting for one month out. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 1:55 p.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
