3/05/2018 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM REGULAR MEETING MONDAY 9:50 A.M. MARCH 5, 2018 Board members present: Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien & Commissioner Paul Jewell. Excused: Chairman Laura Osiadacz. Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jill Scheffer, Event Center Director; Roylene Crawford, Fair Board Director; Greg Zempel, Fair Board Director (Prosecutor). REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER Jill Scheffer, Event Center Director presented the Board with an Agreement for Operation of Carnival and related facilities at the Kittitas County Fair. AGREEMENT CARNIVAL-DAVIS EVENT CENTER Commissioner Jewell moved to authorize Board signature on an Agreement for Operation of Carnival and Related Facilities at the Kittitas County Fair as presented. Commissioner O’Brien seconded. Motion carried 2-0. Ms. Scheffer requested the Board allow her to close her office on 3- 30-2018 to allow the office to attend WSFA Super School in Enumclaw, Washington. Commissioner Jewell reminded Ms. Scheffer that is the day the County is having theIr active shooter drill and stressed the importance of her and Staff being present for the continuity of business meeting at the Event Center to follow the drill at the Courthouse. He stated that in the event something was to happen the Courthouse would be relocated down to the Event Center most likely and her Staff needs to know what to expect. The Board agreed that Ms. Scheffer and Staff could close after the event (approximately 10:00 a.m.) and attend Super School in Enumclaw. Ms. Scheffer was directed to prepare a Resolution for the Board to consider formalizing the closure from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on 3/30/2018.
