COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 AM JUNE 24, 2015 <br />Board members present: Gary Berndt, Obie O’Brien, Paul Jewell <br />Others: Lisa Young, William Holmes <br />SPECIAL MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />1) Call to Order – 10:05 AM <br /> <br />2) Financial Update - Misdemeanant Probation – Probation <br />Services Director Holmes provided a year-over-year <br />financial comparison to review fluctuations. He reported <br />that 60% of their caseload comes from non-Kittitas County <br />residents. The Board asked for another update in August, <br />and suggested that Director Holmes set up some financial <br />models to better anticipate trends. <br /> <br />3) Financial Discussion – State Budget Delay – Impact on Staff <br />– HR Director Young let the Board know that there may be <br />some positions affected if the State budget is delayed. <br />They asked that she email the Management Team to ask which <br />positions may be affected. Commissioner O’Brien stated <br />that DSHS-related positions are supposed to have a “bridge” <br />contract although none have been seen. He anticipated state <br />contracts, state-funded or pass-through agreements, <br />Probation, Public Health, and Solid Waste may be affected. <br /> <br />4) HR Project Updates <br /> Director Young provided updates on the recruitment <br />process for CDS Director and Maintenance Director. The <br />Board would like her to continue to work with <br />Commissioner Berndt on the job description for CDS <br />Director. <br /> Other – None <br /> <br />5) Other Business – The Board asked that Director Young send <br />insurance information for the rodeo contract to <br />Commissioners Jewell and O’Brien.
