OCTOBER 25, 2016 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Commissioner Paul <br />Jewell; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Lisa Young, Human <br />Resource Director; John Fergeson, Attorney representing Deanna <br />Jo Panattoni; and via phone: Ken Harper, Kittitas County Special <br />Deputy Prosecuting Attorney; and Kelly Konkright, Kittitas <br />County Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING PANATONNI FEES & COSTS PROSECUTOR <br /> <br />At 11:00 a.m. Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to <br />consider a Resolution regarding defense costs in the matter <br />Kittitas County vs. Panattoni. <br /> <br />Kelly Konkright, Kittitas County Special Deputy Prosecuting <br />Attorney, explained there had been a Resolution drafted for the <br />Board’s consideration and recommended approval of denying Ms. <br />Panattoni’s request to pay Attorney fees and costs. <br /> <br />John Fergeson, Attorney representing Deanna Jo Panattoni, <br />indicated he had written a letter to Prosecutor Greg Zempel on <br />October 12, 2016. He wished the Board of County Commissioners <br />had read the complaint as he felt the County should pay for Ms. <br />Panattoni’s defense costs. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2016-139 PANATONNI FEES & COSTS PROSECUTOR <br /> <br />Commissioner Jewell moved to approve Resolution No. 2016-139, <br />Determining that Kittitas County is Not Obligated to Pay Deanna <br />Jo Panattoni Attorney Fees and Costs she incurs to defend <br />herself against the Claims filed by Kittitas County in the <br />Superior Court of Washington in and for Kittitas County, Cause <br />No. 16-2-00095-1. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion <br />carried 3-0. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
