09/30/2019 MINUTES 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING WEDNESDAY 1:30 P.M. SEPTEMBER 30, 2019 <br />Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett <br />Wachsmith and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board. Via conference call: Mark <br />Lindbaugh and Kristy Moore of The Ferguson Group; and Linda Schactler, <br />Chief of Staff for the President of Central Washington University. <br /> SPECIAL MEETING THE FERGUSON GROUP COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:30 p.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to obtain <br />information from The Ferguson Group on the Federal Funding process for <br />projects. <br /> <br />Mr. Linbaugh and Ms. Moore representing The Ferguson Group provided <br />background information and their involvement with assisting agencies <br />with securing Federal loans and grants for projects. They specialize in <br />rural areas and counties and have extensive knowledge of Congress and <br />Administration to help achieve success. The steps they follow to assist <br />obtaining Grants include Identifying Local Priorities; Opportunity <br />Analysis; Strategically Position Projects; Grant Writing and Organizing <br />Political Support. Ms. Moore explained how there were many grants <br />available for projects through “Infragrants”. <br /> <br />The Board discussed the I-90 expansion project for a 3rd lane within <br />Kittitas County and the work that’s already been done by different <br />resources. Ms. Schactler provided information on what they’ve been <br />working on as well. <br /> <br />The Board thanked everyone for their input and said they would reach out <br />to Mr. Linbaugh at The Ferguson Group and Ms. Schactler at a later date <br />for further discussion. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 p.m. <br /> KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON Julie Kjorsvik Cory Wright, Chairman
